Heater hose - WTB?
coyoteboy - 7/9/11 at 06:57 PM

Looking for 22mm heater hose reasonably cheap, best I've found so far is about £7 per metre from unknown slightly dodgy looking online shops. Not looking for silicone hoses, no need - it's just the intercooler coolant circuit. Found a place for cheap (£15 each! ) 32-22mm elbows now so only the black hoses to get before I get my power back!

run it in copper, just solder olives when you need local rubber connections.

Hmmm interesting. I probably could do it in copper but it is a bit excessively bendy - it's an odd route! I like the thinking though and have access to 22mm pipe, I'll look again and think!

Why such large hose for the charge cooler? The fact you need 13-22 mm elbows might hint at a more appropriate hose size. I'm using 13 mm on my 190 bhp turbo car.

Cheers R

Edit - are you using a circulating pump with 22 mm outlets?

The whole chargecooler system runs on 22mm hose matey, the core, the pump - all of which are OEM parts. And I'm pushing 350hp through it which was exceeding the capability of the pre-rad, so it now has an audi main engine rad up front with 33mm exits

The plan being to have a larger overall volume of water and a slower flowrate through a larger twin-pass radiator to cool the water better.
Check out the pump size

Gone through fleabay eventually, accepted defeat. Local motor factors all looked at me like I was nuts and generally returned the comment "we've not been asked for that for about 10 years, binned the last roll!".
