I'm after a SD1 front timing cover for a 3.5 Rover V8.
The oil pump gear chamber in the timing cover itself must be in good condition (my present one is badly scored)
Hopefully, somebody will have one suitable for sale.
Many thanks,
Andy.
Couple of V8 owners on here will have one. I have one but it's in terrible condition. Engines a rusted hulk but I guess the cover might be
okay.
ebay always has them for sale

I can have a look for you. I got the engine thrown in with my kitcar (part built) and the thing was seized. I keep scrounging parts off it for my
build, little brackets etc. I think it might be just has bad as the one you have. I'll have a look.
With your Sumo are you using a LT77 or R380 as your gearbox. If so what are you going to do about the clutch hose problem?

Well there's a slight problem with the availability of the SD1 Rover V8 clutch slave cylinder to master cylinder hose. The slave cylinder has
some random thread on it (searchable on here) thats not common and people have done all sorts of imaginative solutions. Most people seem to have a
adapter on the slave cylinder thread to a copper pipe fitting. Then a short length of copper hose to another type of thread fitting, then a regular
hose.
Or you could just go to Rimmers and spend £45 quid. I don't have a copper pipe flaring tool so it makes it even more annoying for me.
I've got one of the later much improved ones with the concentric ouil pump complete with pickup pipe spare but it is for a distributorless model
if that would suit.
Cheers!

I'll have a look at the front cover. Please let me know if you find a good solution for the clutch hose.
I recall I had problems getting one so I found out the correct end sizes and got a local (yellow pages ) hydrollic hose company to make me one. simple + the right length to reach my clutch pedle cylinder. cost around £20
It's your lucky day, I've got one for a SD1 complete with water pump. It's been painted red
.U2U me if your interested.
