as title says, i'm after a 1.8 k series lightened flywheel has anybody got 1 lying around or where is the best place to get such a thing????
cheers
i have got a 1600 one kicking around. not sure if it is lighter smaller or what ever but its generally in my way.
For rear wheel drive to mate to a type 9 you need a 1.4 or 1.6 flywheel which has a much lower moment of inertia than the 1.8 flywheels.
caterham do one for £330
Elise parts do them.
Be careful with using an earlier (larger) 1.8 flywheel as they don't fit inside many of the RWD bell housings. Whilst I don't know the date, at some point IIRC all the engines used the same size flywheel.
