Wanted - engine crane in yorkshire

Dear All

I'm getting the bits together to swap my pinto for a duratec:


  1. engine stand - check
  2. duratec reserved in a scrap yard in leeds - check
  3. throttle bodies - check
  4. engine crane - needed


Does anyone have an engine crane they are willing to sell to me, or if you want to keep it afterwards, long-term hire? I think I'll need it for about a month.

i have one currently lent to a friend that im looking to sell - he's had it about 3 years! Im in leeds.

You can get a new one from JTF on Geldard road in leeds for about £100. My brother in law has one. Very well made for the price.

You're right, mate. I'm in Harrogate, slap bang between Leeds and York.

I suppose this means I'll drive quite a distance to collect if the price is right

And by travel, I mean this saturday

To stick with the whole low cost theory, I'm planning on making an engine crane! There's a couple of designs on the net that seem to work quite nicely, basically a few lengths of RHS steel and a bottle jack. Oh, and chain to lift it with.

My mate has one he wants gone, brand new only used once.
I "think" he wants £60 for it, it's in Bradford..
