unleaded pinto big valve head required for engine up grade and possibly a sorted block too to bring engine up to 140 bhp
You don't need a big valve head for 140Hp on a 2.0l pinto. The valves are already large.
In fact 140 can be achieved with a new mild cam and twin 40's !
Most information i have read about the pinto states that you only need to fit larger valves when you are going for outrageous cam's/performance
(around the 200Hp mark)
im now confused ? as there seems to be alot of differing opinions on low cost tuning of pintos and what max bhp (for little money) you can get out of them can anyone clear this matter up?
Matt Claydon's is a standard head with a cam and 40's and his is apparently giving 138 bhp.
You could u2u him for some more details.

We got our engine balanced and did the porting on he head ourselves fitted a fastroad cam and twin 45's and its pushing out 160bhp! there is no need for bigger valves, just flow the head and match the ports to the inlet manifold, the area around the valves and the stem are the most rewarding of flowing, there is no need to touch the combustion area, and don't polish just smooth out as petrol molicules stick to shiny surfaces, thats about it.
thanks for that lads ! is there any scope in using a 38 dgas weber or am i just wasting money?
your just throttling the engine, you'd be lucky to get 130 with that carb yo'd get 150 with 40's and 160 + with 45's depending on the cam
thanks ill scan e bay!
