PAIR OF WIND DEFLECTORS
alfiebeard - 13/10/12 at 10:22 PM

Hi All,
I want a pair of wind deflectors (wind wings)for my Viento the type that are hinged from either side of the windscreen, or if anyone has a pattern I could have I would be chuffed to bits as I could make a pair from Perspex etc.

Thanks

I want to make a set too. I have had a look at one of our club memeber's Westy, and his deflectors are shaped at the bottom so they sit up against the bodywork just below the screen and don't need friction hinges as the wind holds them against the body.

I'll see if I can find any pics so you can see what I mean.

I'll be interested to see any info on where I can get Lexan etc. to make some for mine.

I faffed about trying to find some suitable hinges for months, and in the end I just made a couple of angled brackets out of stainless steel strip. I doubt whether I'd ever adjust the deflectors anyway...

Thanks lads,
You can get lexan pretty cheap off flea bay, here

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320977356815?var=510078104792&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

it would be good to get a template to work off, we could make them rest against the bodywork and even stick a small bit of velcrow or double sided tape to hold it in place if nessesary, I had a pair on my Cobra and they were spot on and stopped all the wind from tearing your eyeballs out after 90mph. I will also try and get some templates and report back here if I get sorted.

I made the brackets, then roughed out a shape with some cardboard.

Hi Alfie just dug them out they have got a fair few scratches unfortunately

There still very usable but judging by how smart your car looks maybe not to you

there just light scratches on them you can still see threw them fine i know nothing about perspex but i imagine as there quite thick they would come out if you knew how.. buff /polish ?

All 4 hinges are present also, taking the scratches into account how does £15 posted sound ?

If your not happy and cant tidy them up use them as a template to make another pair send them me back and ill send you back £15 (minus the postage)

Hi Yes that sounds good to me,

I can always use them as a template if the worst came to the worst, can I pay by Paypal or how would you like paid.

Thank You

Alfie
