Having grafted Mondeo discs and calipers onto my Mk2 Escort hubs fitted to my car, I now realise that the calipers foul my Pepperpot style rims. The
RS wheels clear (which I made the calipers fit behind!).
I have a pair of wanky ally spacers that are about 1" thick which I could skim but before I do, has anyone got a pair floating about? 8mm up to
12mm should do it. Hubcentric would be nice but I have tapered seat nuts (eek!) so not the end of the world if the spacers are just flat.
Cheers.
I doubt you'll get hubcentrics that thin as theres unlikely to be enough material to create the 2nd lip over the hubs own lip.
JJC do some 16mm hubcentric spacers quite cheap, I have a pair that I skimmed down to 14mm and they still fit fine, I think you could easily get them down to 12mm (I was looking them earlier as I am looking at making some more for a special job)
Also just to mention with the 63mm long studs (the longest Rally design do I believe), a compomotive ML wheel and a 14mm spacer the top of the nut is just about flush with the end of the stud (that's why I skimmed the 16mm's down) so you may need some longer studs
Thanks for the replies.
I have fitted the Mondeo discs on the outside of the hub so there is only about 4mm of spigot still showing so skimming thicker spacers would work.
I've also taken the 25mm spacers off so the studs are plenty long enough!
I may just make some toight but I only have steel in stock.
I've got some generic flat alloy spacers in various sizes.
They're round a friends at the moment but I'll grab them off him tomorrow and let you know sizes if you want.
Won't want much for them....
