Lend me some money - please?
nick205 - 11/1/17 at 02:36 PM

Poking around Pistonheads I came across this...

It wouldn't make me a better driver, but boy would it bring a smile to my face!

Who can lend me some money to buy it?

Yes they were - shame it came to an end really!

I wonder what the cars would be like now had it continued?

6R4 is quite a beast, but for me the Pug is the one that does it.

As with anything though, just because it's advertised at that price doesn't mean anyone is going to pay it....
A common argument i have with people over the value of certain items.

slingshot2000 - 11/1/17 at 05:51 PM

After seeing the prices that some other cars have made recently, I would expect that to sell at the advertised price or very close to it. If it was up for auction and two (rather well off) collectors wanted it, then . . . . . . . $$$$$$$$$$$

obfripper - 11/1/17 at 06:58 PM

That's a 50% markup on it's sale price 4 months ago..

http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/23425/lot/30/

For similar money an ex Ari Vatanen group b example could have been bought a couple years ago.

Ari Vatanen 205 T16

that price includes 20% buyers premium so the real figure would be a lot less than what they are asking
RS 200 for me thanks

steve m - 11/1/17 at 07:59 PM

Im with Conrod, a Rs200 would be real nice, as these French things leave me cold, and do not raise any form of interest

I'm forever grateful that I'm old enough to remember cold nights in the forests with group B rally cars coming in the distance popping & banging and then having them hurtle past and watching the drivers battling to control them

Bloody brilliant

Adamirish - 11/1/17 at 09:28 PM

RS200 for me too though I am partial to a 6R4.

My boss is a very successful rally driver, he was thinking of buying a 6R4 many moons ago so hired one for an event. He says it's the scariest thing he had ever driven! So short and unstable it was laughable! He even managed to clear a hedge in it. Car and hedge were undamaged somehow!

I know it wasn't Group B but Tony Pond in a TR7 was a little bit special. What a legend.

Love that too!

The front and rear flames look rather cool and I like the fact the genuine one are of a shorter wheelbase - a very "purposeful" looking car IMHO.

I am currently finding it very amusing that other car makers (BMW, Mercedes etc) are all jumping onto the 4wd train. I see the adverts and can't help but think that "Audi already did it". I also question what real benefit 4wd brings to everyday drivers anyway. Yes in a "balls-out" situation it will add more grip/traction, but ordinary driving...I don't really see the benefit myself, just a bit of a fashion statement and more complex mechanicals (maybe I'm missing something though?).

Granted the Ford RD200 is a desirable little car, but for me it's the T16 everytime. By my own admission I'm a die-hard 205 fan anyway - currently have my 3rd 205GTI.

As before had Grp B continued I would really love to see what manufacturers would have come up with by now
