Hi All.
I've been asked to make a release spanner/clamp for a fifties 2CV.
I've measured the spring thats got to be unwound off the bush so looking fro a piece of thick wall pipe that's 66. 64 i/d.
Thanks in anticipation,
Paul G
p.s. Don't expect this for nothing, or even beer money.
An arm and a leg will be closer.

Can't help with the pipe.
I don't know 2CVs all that well, but is this the suspension spring by any chance?
Just found this on ebay if it helps.

Nothing quite big enough there Keith. 3" nb pipe is 3-1/2inch o/d and is made that size so that it can be threaded 3"BSP.
Its dimensions in metric are O/D 88.9 ____ I/D 66.64 ____ Wall thickness 11.13
Now we no longer make anything in this country its getting harder to find the materials.
Thanks all the same.

I'm also (guessing) it's one of thos situations where you can buy a tool for the job, but it's expensive for a job you'll probably
do once?
Can the person borrow a tool from an owners club or another owner similar?
Does it have to be round tube ??
as what about a suitable RHS square tube, but with colletts/very large washers either to bring back to a round end ?

It sounds like your customer is absorbing the cost of the design decisions, but why does this tool need to be so stout?
What does it do?
At that price for the pipe, I'd be buying bar and boring it out!

Having looked at what you are trying to work on, all i can say is what an unusual design of shock absorbers/springs
and coupled together like they are,
I dont think ive seen anything quite like it before

Citroen are known for their weird, often complex, systems. At least the 2 CV system is simple!
