mk2 escort steerig rack clamps wanted and rubbers if servicable!!! regards martin
£15 ish for a full set from any main Ford dealer.
I had a hard time getting them from the Local Ford dealer, ie couldnt get them.
However, Luego have made their own.
These are basically just a saddle clamp, and a strip of rubber to wrap around the rack instead of the fancy Ford one.
This seems a simple answer, and probably a lot cheaper, or you could make your own, and just as strong.
They were fairly strong clamps, probably made from 3mm thick steel (I didnt take a really close look at dimensions etc).
What ever you do, make sure its done well, as steering parts come under the "Mission Critical" heading and MUST be correct and safe.
If in any doubt consult a qualified mechanic / automotive engineer or Luego.
I made some out of 30x3mm strip and used a piece cut from an inner tube round the rack. Wrap it round a couple of times. I also welded some strip to the chassis bracket to locate the rack for sideways movement. Every little helps I think.
