Dont worry guys... not gonna be using the engine!!
I have a 1300 engine in mind that has slightly more poke than that! But I need to do an enigne number transfer on the v5 (unfortunately I dont have
the chassis number from the original doner to prove the age of the engine for the emissions test). I'm specifically after a 1300 just to make it
easier to get cheap road tax!
My bro in law had one when they first came out. They didn't last long apparently.
I've got one, could possibly help you. Do you acually have a 1.3 sierra yourself? Would happily swap my V5 and the entire engine for a diff from one.
They did a 1300 Cortina but that may well be xflow.
Yup sounds like a porky but there was a 1300 pinto, hard to believe really and gave a whole new meaning to power and weight.
Evidently the 1300 pinto heads are a wanted item for building a hot engine,i'm sure one of the anoraks will know more.
delboy,
Sounds interesting. I'm not after the engine, just the v5.
What ratio diff are you after? There's a chance I may be able to help. Otherwise I'm sure we can arrange some kind of deal.
u2u me
Cheers.
Now, if my old age memory serves me right, the 1300 Sierra was a three door.......and the body was the basis of the cosworths.
Is there a sound of 'ringing' in my ears???
Maybe just a clone in mind.
Why do you need a donor V5 to prove an engine age? Ive been able to age my Pinto just from the engine number.
Its a Mazda engine, they are apparently unable to look up any details without the chassis number.
I'm hoping by transferring the engine number to the v5 of a vehicle of the appropriate age that they'll take the age of the engine as the
age of vehicle as per the v5. Hopeful I know but it has been described as a way to do it on this forum before.
