Hi All,
Im looking for some M12 x 1.25 x 80mm Bolts for mounting an engine onto a stand. Does anyone know of a decent and cost effective source for such a
fine pitch bolt? The cheapest I have been able to find so far is about 2 quid a bolt plus postage!!
Cheers
Adam
Is that not normal pitch? I thought fine pitch was 1.0.
Rich.
tried namrick? www.namrick.co.uk iirc..
Ned.
I believe standard pitch for an M12 bolt is 2mm. Fine is 1.5 and ultra fine is 1.25, anything else would be a custom thread size.
Namrick are quite good on piece price but it costs 6 quid for delivery
i believe they don't always charge the 6 quid, it depends on what you order.
(policy might have changed by now, but i'm sure thats what happened when i called them - the only problem was, they wouldn't tell you the
postage until you'd placed the order and they'd assembled it)
as miker says, for only a few small bits they do postage cheaper, they only calculate it when you'e submitted your order iirc. i ordered a few
odd bolts once and only came to a couple of quid p+p in standard post.
Ned.
Yeah, ordered from namrick just last week and the only charged me the actual postage cost, which as it turned out was nearly 6 quid anyway! But I did get about 8 stamps on the envelope though! First dealing with them, v impressed.
Apologies guys, had I read the small print I would have noticed the postage breakdown. Thanks for the advice, I've gone on and ordered from them
so we'll see how it goes.
Cheers

Might be talking crap....... but I had similar problem so used long 8mm standard bolts that went through the engine casing and secyred it to the
engine stand.....
Hope this helps!
M12 Coarse (Preferred) is M12x1.75
Fine pitches are 1.0, 1.25 and 1.5
If it's a good quality HT bolt (12.9 grade, socket cap) 2 quid seems fair if you are only buying one or two. That's where the likes of
Namrick win because they are prepared to sell small qtys - my local trade counter has a 20 quid min sale rule. I end up getting 2 bolts and 18 quids
worth of hand cleanser!
