If you can't get your hands on a propper one then there are more locost options. 1 is to find a lath and make one up your self (worked for me in the past).

Option 2 is to get a a tube (or bar) that fits inside the the flywheel bearing (a preferable as closer fit as is possible) and the wind duct tape round the tube in the right places so that the tape forms the correct profile for alligning the clutch. This methoud has also worked for me in the past.

Get something like this mate.

If u have a partco unipart near you they sell them for 7 quid.

A cheaper way, if u can get your fingers under the pressure plate enough to be able to feel the friction plate. U can feel it in and move it with a screwdriver through the centre. Centralise it as u tighten it up.

I picked up this exact same type last week and i'm v. pleased with it. I think it will do anything but a Mini. I payed by cheque and it still arrived in a couple of days.

Masking tape round a socket bar works. I've used one of these for the last 10 years without any problem, mine was about £3 when I got it.

i've used the cheap tool in the past - its great, can't fault it at all!

simple locost fix is to nick the input shaft from a broken gearbox. guaranteed fit every time.

If you have a good selection of sockets (3/8" and 1/4" and extensions you can make up to fit almost anything.

Always used a marker pen. It's just the right diameter for Escort gearbox, don't know about Sierra though!

BROOM HANDLE

Don't need one. Do it by eye. You will get it close enough the splines will go in but not the spigot. Loose fit the bolts and press the clutch pedal and everything will drop into place.
