Anyone got one of these surplus to requirements?

Two types Chris, early and late(verto type, as fitted to early Metro's).

Early is about £10+ from Partco, late is twice that.

Syd.

Thanks Syd!

It's for the servo plan you had, which type would be the best one?

Cheers

Chris

Chris, if you find out which one you need then drop my mate Dave an email min1dave@aol.com

The verto one needs the pipework that goes with it or it doesn't work. It has a restrictor or something in it which increases the hydraulic pressure from the master.

Pete,
I think (well, I'm quite sure) you'll find the two slaves are swappable. Some Metro's had a 'Damper' in the system , but it can be omitted in most cases.

We've run both types in the racing Mini's for seven years now, with no problems with either.

Some of the Metro slaves had bigger fittings in the tube end. I've got a box of 'em. 12mm if I remember. AND you can use 3/16 tube with no probs, before anyone mentions it. We use Cu/Ni with aeroquip flexi's.

Syd.

My wife's MG Metro had that damper. It was a glorified restrictor that let the clutch out slowly even if you took your foot off quickly.

It's other purpose was to spring a leak on her way home from work, leaving her stranded......

The verto one on mine wouldn't work without the restrictor, I tried it and had to put it back.

When I fitted an MG lump in my pick up I left the damper off with no ill effects.
