Someone in Beds/Herts or Oxfordshire

I need to ask a favour from someone in either Beds/Herts or Oxfordshire or anywhere in between who has a CAI/Smith/Revotec Telemetrix electronic speedo.

Mine doesn seem to work, i think its the sender, but before i spend £30 on another one i want to see if its the actual speedo not working.

All i need is to quickly swap the guages over and a quick run to see if it works.

Let me know if anyone can help. Or if anyone knows an easier way to test the speedo.

Thanks Alot.

I'm local but donl't have the guage.

Not knowing the details, I owld expect the sender to send voltage pulses that are 'counted' by the speedo head.

If this is correct, then
a) test the sender by connecting some electrickery to show pulses are produces - this can be a simple circuit driving a LED
b) have means for creating pulses for the speedo. if you know the voltage, 12 V? then a slotted dics whizzed in a hand drill or electric drill with a wired to make contact will work.

If I knew more about the sender - pulse voltage/frequency I could give more info.

I'm in Peterborough? - or is that too far?

I have the Smiths Telemetrix range from CAI.
