Just go get some from the local bolt place you lazy sod. Should be something like m12x35-40mm long knowing ford.

omega0684 - 28/5/06 at 10:19 PM

can anyone confirm si's bolt suggestion, what size are the gearbox bolts?

DIY Si - 28/5/06 at 10:28 PM

Oh, and they should be at least 8.8 grade. I wouldn't use anything less regardless of what it's holding together.

Thread depends on which engine it is being bolted to ---- Ford UK Kent (pre-xflo, xflo, Twincam, BDA, BDG ) engines and Esssex engines (V4 & V6) engines were all UNC while the the Pinto, CVH, Zetec, Colonge V4 & V6 are metric.

Pinto ones are M10 IIRC from cleaning the threads out on my block.

From memory the bolts that screw into the gearbox are 10x1.5mm (the bolts on the side of the engine) the top bolts depend on the engine being used as already pointed out . Pinto bolts are the same thread but be careful NOT to use bolts that are too long . X flow I believe are UNC.

i can confirm they are metric ones some are 45mm (8 i think) and the other 2 are 40mm (these 2 point towards the engine!

only £2 from ford for the set

M10's. Some are 30 and some 40 long. Just get longer ones and cut them to the right length.
