16mm to 22mm coolant hose
the_fbi - 24/9/06 at 09:18 PM

I don't suppose anybody knows of a standard coolant hose which is 16mm to 22mm (ID) and at least 30cm long?

Going to look a bit messy using a 22-16 reducer and a 16mm length, so don't really want to.

Just a quick thought but a std plumbers solder ring fitting 22mm to 15mm reducer might just be the thing your looking for. Unless you meant you didn'y want to use a reducer at all (i.e.only a pipe)

A fitting like thisreducer

Nice idea, but unfortunately I need to go from a 22mm male on the header tank, to a 16mm male on the bottom collant pipe.

So I'd still need 2 pieces of coolant hose with the copper jobby.

Nice to know that exists for the future though!

Hi,
You can get these reducers with a mixture of male and female ends. It might be worth taking a bit of rubber hose down to your local DIY store and see if you can find a solution. I needed something similar to bypass the heater pipes on my Rover V8 engine. I ended up using a 15mm to 22mm reducer, a 22mm 90 degree elbow, a 15mm 90 degree elbow and a little bit of copper pipe. Did the job nicely!

Cheers,
Craig.

Samco/SFS etc can certainly make them, but they are expensive.

An off the shelf jobbie would be sub £5, just need to find one.

I'll take a trip to the local factors to see if they've got a nice few shelves to look through.
