Pinto Rocker Cover
flak monkey - 26/10/06 at 12:48 PM

I need a rocker cover thats had its filler neck moved to the back of the engine, as mine is too high to fit under the bonnet as it stands.

If anyone has one let me know and theres some pennies waiting.

do they exist? do what prevous owner of mine did and move/weld to the rear. (crossflow but should be same)

or just plug off and fit a sump plug filler jobbie.

I could just block it off and fill the engine by removing the rocker cover. But it seems like a lot of hassle just to top the oil up.

I could get the old one modified, bu it took me 2 months to get my sump sorted in the summer, and i dont want to wait that long for my mate to be available to weld my rocker cover up.

Was just wondering if anyone who is swapping their pinto out would have a modded rocker cover going begging.

I've got the one I bought of roadrunniner. I can take some photos if you want.

Basically you chop off the old tube and weld a plate across it then weld the tube on to the back end of the rocker cover at an angle (i.e. gear box end).

I'll do to photos at the weekend if you want.

Thanks , I know how to do the mods, thats not the problem.

I just need the rocker cover without a 2 month wait when i get home. So would rather pay someone reasonable money for one than get home at xmas and not be able to get my car finished.

Cheers,
David

I have one off a 1600 pinto. Modified so that the oil filler is at the back. If that is any use let me know and I will send a pic

Kind regards

Gary
