I'll see what I can do. Do you know the exact car & age that has one of these specified?

thanks Rich, I'm not sure what cars use these, I need it for my LC1 wideband (knackered the sensor today)

I think it is mainly volkswagen / volvo who use this sensor

the list above implies this anyway.

I think the bosch part number I require is

bosch 0 258 007 057

thanks for offering to help

How was the sensor damaged?

givemethebighammer - 27/11/06 at 11:24 AM

I ran the engine without the sensor powered up. Apparently this kills them pretty quickly

doh

Thanks people plenty of places to call. I guess when these sensors are fitted to cars by the manufacturer they get powered on with the ignition so no chance of doing what I did.

Oh well, expensive mistake, I'll know better next time........

Bill was the cheapest ordered from him this evening.

from the LC-1 manual

"When installed in the exhaust, the oxygen sensor MUST be connected and operating with the LC-1 whenever the car is running. An un-powered oxygen sensor will be quickly damaged when exposed to hot exhaust gases."

I found out the hard way, now I'm £45 worse off.
