wanted : Coilovers
novacaine - 23/1/07 at 05:28 PM

as the title implies,
im after a set of coilovers for my up-and-coming project, my main requirement is that they are very cheap, i realy only need something that will get my car on the road so seeing as i am going the "locost" way i guess i shouldnt realy be spending mega money on shocks and springs

anyone want to get rid of their dreaded zeemarides?

cheers

Matt

When you say 'on the road' do you mean through SVA? If it's just to make the car manoueverable just make 4 tie rods.

I used bits of plywood strip, cut to the length of a coilover and drilled a hole in each end, when they are bolted on they keep the car at approx ride height and allow the car to be manouevered. If you look in my photo archive there's a huge photo (look in the rear brakes file, it's the first photo) in which you can see one of them in action.

The chap I bought my part built kit from had made these, though solid mild steel might have been slight overkill

We had some 2"x1" with Koni written on it specially for the job.
