Remote Oil filter Advise
coozer - 2/4/07 at 12:30 PM

Anyone in the North East know a place locally that sells Mocal oil stuff.

I want to know if a take off plate will fit in the tiny gap I have between housing and steering shaft before I commit to buy.

I've seen one on ebay that says its 1" high that would be ideal but I've seen other adverts for the same ones that say you need 2.5", which would be too big.

Anyone using one locally I can have a butchers at with the tape measure??

take off plate - I have 2 fitted but nedver really paid attention so from memory, there is the take off itslef that sits between the filter and housing; for a remote fitler thare is a base plate instead of the filter.

1 inch sould like the take of plate thickness but without the base plate.

Yup- I'd imagine they're both right- that the height of the take-off plate is 1 inch but you need 2.5 to get the base plate attached... Might be wrong though!!!!!

^^^^ not necessarily; the mocal catalogue list low profile take offs (from memory for japanese cars?)

> 1.5 inch for base plate seems a bit too tall.

Do you want me to measure what I have got fitted? (standard parts, not low profile).

02GF74, I would be grateful. The steering shaft goes past at an angle and the 45mm I have is at the closest point.

I see the top cap is chamfered and thats why looking at one would be better for me
