just get a cheap toshiba satellite on ebay... very tough machines... and reliable... should cost you no more than £80-£90 with a pentium III in it (more than enough to toss it around for engine tuning)

HI, I have a couple I am sorting out at the minute. Gonna be cheap, but very reliable as they are Compaq and Dell's. They all have com ports on the rear which is what the tuners use to setup engine EC's etc.
I am looking for £60 per laptop, they will have a fresh install of Windows, and office...then its up to you what you add to them. Let me know what you think. All the best Matt

I use an old toshiba satallite, as previously said, very reliable, mines been dropped (down the stairs) sat in a very hot engine bay, it's had the ports stretched in directions that I think toshiba new were possible, although the bat is buggered I have this partitioned XP and Linux and is as quick as my new sony (but that all depends on how much crap you put on it).

It'll fail one day, but hats off at the mo.
