Could anyone drill me a 5mm hole through 2 x M10 bolts for my front indicator extensions.
Bolts have to be hex head and have no smooth shoulder and need to be 15-20mm long ish.
Cheers,
Pat...
I managed to do this in my pillar drill, just by the cheapest monkey metal bolts you can if it is just for the sva, although i drilled stainless ones,
If your struggling let me know
Mike
likewise I managed it with a pillar drill. I used M8 socket cap bolts held in a vice and drilled a 4.5mm dia hole down the middle. Plenty of light
oil to lubricate and cool the drill bit and a nice steady feed.
Likewise if you're stuck I'll have a go at it for you.
If you've got a vice it should be possible to do it by eye. Use a drill to do the center hole first, if its way off chuck it away and do another If it's within a mm at the other end go up in sizes to 5mm... Easy peasy....
I also did mine in a pillar drill. It wasn't difficult, and I only lined the vertical of the bolt up by eye, so if you have a square handy it
shoud be really easy.

I drilled a 5mm hole up the length of an M8 bolt with a hand drill. That said, I had to do 4 to get the 2 I needed. Start with a small drill in the threaded end and go up in diameter a bit at a time.
Yip, pillar drill for me to did the trick

Pat - have you got pillar drill?
Likewise Pat, if you're stuck, you are more than welcome to use my lathe/pillar drill if you're passing.
