Help wanted with welding in Newcastle
Guinness - 6/10/07 at 08:56 AM

Following on from this thread :- http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=75246

I have been down to my wife's work this morning, to try to fix the brakes. Ordered a set of pad retaining springs and wedges from Peugeot. Got down there to fit them and it's still really loose. Managed to wedge it in with a bit of ally trim and drove it home (very slowly!).

Anyway the car is now at mine, and I'd like someone (local) with a welder to come round and put a run of weld onto the caliper, so that I can dress it back to the right profile.

I'm around all weekend.

Cheers

Mike

Sorry Mike, no help with the welding, but what about a dollop of JB Weld, and an attack of the angle grinder?

if its just a case of stopping something rattling loose. If its going to be under compression, then a proper weld might be better.

Mike, I've got a stick welder. Is that what you want? Just a single thick run?

Thanks for the offer Steve, but I think I've sorted it.

There are three different sizes of fitting kits. I have the smallest, and typically I need the largest one!
