Another tiny but important part that I'm missing...

Does anyone have a spare Sierra steering column bush retaining washer - the one to take the trianglular part of the upper column?

Jubilee clip does the job for 99% of people on here...

I've a short length (25mm) of 25mm o/d x 3mm wall i.e. 19mm int. CDS steel tube if that will work & you want to cut your own.
Worked on my Escort column.

seconded on the jubilee clip.

i couldn't get my retaining washer to stay where it should. the jubilee clip works flawlessly
