I fitted a Nippondenso alternator of a Daihatsu on my Tiger but that had a Zetec fitted. It was approx 2/3rds the size of the Lucas alternator that Tiger use as standard and having helped a mate with his Pinto Cat last week recon it will be an easy fit if you can weld up some suitable mounts yourself.

Quick look on ebay found this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Daihatsu-Nippon-Denso-Kit-Car-Lightweight-Alternator_W0QQitemZ220165081606QQihZ012QQcategoryZ100911QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZ ViewItem . I got mine from a breaker for around £25 or so from memory

Paul
That's what I had in mind - A Nippon Denso from a breakers for about £25 - but they seem like hen's teeth.
I'm not paying £100 off ebay on principle. The principle being I'm mean.
Can you remember what car yours came out of?
Thanks very much for your interest.

Usually found in a Charade.

Its a good few years now but from memory mine came off a HiJet van but as mentioned the Charade one is perfect. I filled out a couple of the national parts finder sites and got an alternator at a sensible price within a couple of hours.
