Hi all,
came home today looking forward to a trip in the car and taking a mate out, and noticed a large patch of oil on garage floor.
It appears I've holed to sump!
so wanted is a sump for my 1.3 flow.
cash waiting.
Many thanks
Could It be Welded?
Jason
only temporary, it's grounded the sump plug and sump, i'm working on that now, but will need a new one for serviceing
if you are handly with the wlder, they you could weld a thicker bottom plate and move the sump plug to the side.
halfords sell a variety of sump plugs, weld in a nut on the inside and job done - the copper washer would do the sealing - and before any one say it.,
it does work as I did this on my v8 sump for a oil temp sender.

Did my shortened xflow sump like that, i welded a 1.5mm bottom on and made a drain plug and boss to weld to the side .

Yes they are slightly different , the fiesta one is a front bowl and the mounting holes are slighly different so would need a fiesta type timing
cover, which in turn needs the correct fiesta cam sprockets or else they wear through the timing case as soon as the tensioner wears a bit, guess how
i found out.
