Wtd. Stainless threaded bar
chris_harris_ - 10/3/08 at 10:53 PM

Can anyone help me out withnthis one, or have any suggestions and how i could do this accurately.
I need 4 (no) pieces of stainless steel bar drilled out and tapped to M12x1.25(fine) they are for my upper seat belt mounts. They only need to be about 50mm long to go through my roll bar. Don't think i can drill them accurately enough at home.
Thanks

Would stainless be enough for seat belt mountings?

Couldn't you just use tube with a nut on the end of the bolt?

I suppose i could use tube, but the nut underneath would be a sharp edge to cover and i just think threaded bar would look nicer.

Get a lathe - you know you want one

I did, and used it amongst other things to make what you describe.
