Does anyone have a sheet of something suitable as a wind deflector. Can only get very thin perspex locally and it just flaps about.

I got some stuff about 8mm thick a couple of years back from B&Q, think it was acrylic, I think it would be rigid enough for a lip-type deflector. I chucked out what I had left or you could've had it for P&P, but they probably still sell it.

dont use perspex or acrylic for that application.

use lexan marguard ....... or Exell

Gary - I've got some Lexan that has been on my car for a month or so in the form of a flyscreen... more info and a pic here.

If you're interested, drop me a U2U or email with the size of the deflectors you want and I will see if it looks like the piece would be big enough. Pricewise say a fiver + P&P?

I am using perspex all the time for making 3d models of buildings (I am an architectural student you see )
Have you though how you going to cut the perspex in shape before you fit it?
It is not easy material to cut. I have 3mm sheets of perspex that I bough from ebay. I can't give it to you cause they cost a fortune (actually they cost about 25-30 pounds a sheet but as I told you I am a student so that a fortune for me) but I can help you cut it in shape using lazer for free. What I mean is that I have access to the universities lazer cut facilities, so if you want I can cut it in any shape you want very very accurate for free but you need to supply your perspex yourself.
P.S I have booked the day on 26th of March for cutting a model there if you want come around to cut your perspex.

Do you have an industrial plastics supplier near to you, worth checking yellow pages? Probably a better bet than DIY stores
