Bonnet clips
madmandegge - 8/4/08 at 09:54 PM

Looking for some bonnet clips, much like these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260227002401

Except they seem a little pricey (apologies if they're anyones on here, I stand to be corrected!) But then again I can't find any anywhere else to compare to!

Thanks.

No problem rob, thanks for the reply!

Mark, thanks for that too! I don't need to pass an SVA with the ones I purchase, would anyone recommend any others that they use or know others have successfully? The ones I currently have are the rubber pull tab through a metal sort of "u" shape, but don't hold in place even when the car's stationary!

have a google for protex.

top quality stainless over centre latches

caterham and westfield supply them if you require testament to their quality.

they deal with the public. fast service. i replaced my rubber ones with sprung stainless ones. not looked back or worried about flying bonnets since.

Tom, thanks for that! They certainly have a much larger range than anywhere else I've seen.

Not to be a pain () but is there a paticular type you'd suggest? The sprung type looked interesting, or is that just a terrible idea?

edit - Just re-read your post, I may end up going for the sprung ones then. I'd assume they allow for some play, while also staying locked in place, sounds good!

i may have mislead you slightly.

they're over centre style, but the lever to unlock them is sprung down into the locked position.

if i can find them in 5 mins, i'll stick a link to them. if not, it'll be a bit later.
