45mm i/d Silicone hose
CRAIGR - 9/5/08 at 04:00 PM

I need 4 short lengths (100mm lengths will do) of 45mm inside diameter silicone hose.
Anyone got some kicking about for some beer tokens.

If no-one else gets in touch I will have a look after the weekend for you (I have a box of hose offcuts, but it's totally buried right now!)

Cheers,
Steve

if you've got any left, i'd like so too please

same idea, 4 pieces, about 100mm each (or 8x 50mm ) for my bike carb manifold

Is regular silicone hose petrol resistant? Thought you'd need special type for it.

well.... i haven't done the manifold yet. (i know! still not )
but what i'm going to do is, i've got a steel flange for it. its not perfect, so i'll use this as a test one. so, what i plan to do is weld very short peices of pipe to it (half inch or so) and use a seperate runner pipe. so the hose will connect the main runner pipe to the manifold, and then hose from the runner to the carb.

that way i can vary the length of the runner to find what i need by simply undoing a clamp, cut down the tube, and reclamp. if i want to lentghen it, i put in new pipe.

also, once i've found the length i want i use the resulting angles of the runners as a template for making my final alloy manifold.

so, basically a short peice of hose at either end of the runner for set up.

another thing is, my engine's away to be rebuilt just now, and there's limited space for carbs. i just don't yet know how limited lol

I have a bit over a half a meter of samco silicon hose sitting in my room ready for someone to purchase. It is 45mm ( bought from rally design ) and is blue.

Feel free to give me a U2U if your interested.

( Left over from a throttle body conversion, got it about a month ago, so basically brand new )

Yes silicon is attacked by petrol, some people seem to get away with it and others have problems.I think one well known company supplied a lot of people with silicon hose that disintigrated after a ittle use.I use coolant hose and have had no problems with it , it is also much cheaper to buy.
