Hi guys

I'm on the hunt for a mini 1275 engine. Thought I'd check in here and see if any of you guys had one lying about for sale?

Thanks

Greg.

Have you had a look in "For Sale" under "free engine". Not quite what you want but pretty close...

...and cheap too

Any particular 1275 engine? A or A+? Would a Metro engine do? The MG metro engine had bigger valves and a better cam IIRC.
I don't have any spare engines (and I'm not in Ireland) but if you widen your search, you may have more luck.

There is a guy on here somewhere called smart1275?? or something like that who put a 1275 in a smart car but I believe he recently decided to go BEC instead. Maybe he has the old one going spare, you could try u2u him?

thanks guys. To answer your responses.

A or A+ - pref A+ but it doesn't matter.
Minor engine is different to the Mini engine

Can arrange courier pickup in UK if you know of someone who has one.

Thanks tho!

Greg.

If you get the Metro engine, you will need the bell housing cover and the radator mount from the mini as the engine is mounted on these in the mini, but not the metro.

You will also need to drill the head for the heater valve take off. Be sure not to skimp on this as this is a major factor in coolant flow around that end of the head.

You will also need the flywheel/clutch/slave assembly off the mini depending on which clutch you have in the metro
