Looking for a cossie turbo 16v engine.
Dont need the turbo, just the complete engine. Preferably in goodish condition. (Its going to get a strip down and rebuild anyway).
Cash awaits

I think you would get a rebore and a new set of pistons to drop the cr for what a poor cosie will cost.
I'm Intrigued,
what are you planning ?

What about using a VAG 1.8T? They're probably a lot cheaper to aquire than a Cozzie.

Have you thought about a bike engine?

i agree with sucksqueezebangblow! vag 1.8t, lighter more modern and easily tunable to ridiculous powers!! cossie engine is a big lump. only trouble is
with a vag where would you get a bell housing???

What about a 2.3 Saab Aero? Practical Performance Car (Mag) are putting one in a Mk2 escort. Its up to about part 3 in the mag now.
They recon 400Bhp on stock internals with just a increase of the pressure and some fuel remapping. They are well over 200bhp out for the box, (could
be 230 or 260, but cant remember)
They are using a GM gearbox out of a Vauxhall Omega.
You need the right year Saab engine, but its a straight bolt on job with the right clutch parts.
Looks pretty straightforward to me.
Its a viable alternative to a cossie, and probably a damn sight cheaper.
Just my 2 reils worth
EDIT: geabox was out of an Omega. (still a GM box)
