Two rod ends. A piece of Hex bar. A friend with a lathe.

Looks pretty simple. Not sure the alternator is very well supported in that install though?

i used a small s/s rigging screw about 5mm, cut the ends off and weld on a bit of s/s tube to the end on the alt and i cant rember what i put on the other end but it works beacause of the left and right hand thread and it has locking nuts fitted to stop it coming loose, cost was bout £10

Does it need to be that posh?
The standard adjuster from vauxhall is £17!

haven't got a lathe, and the only guy i know who has hasn't got the left hand tap i'd need. be easier to buy one really.

loggyboy, it doesn't have to be that posh (nice if it is though) the standard adjuster for my engine is on the power steering pump, which i ditched.

tommy, i had been looking at those, although the smallest ones are too long for what i need

i think i know what i'll do for now, i found some really thin tube, if i can find a 8mm left hand thread nut (lol, i know...) and a normal one and weld them on, that will do the trick.

Yeah, my XE was the same (came from a late Cav SRi) and the inlets are different as the bolt comes is vertical, rather than the normal horizontal, so i had a nose thru the EPC and found one that suited.

Part no is 90323607 (70 amp alt) or 90409833 (for 90amp) there are more bolts and washers and things to but im sure the parts guy at Vaux can look them up. (under Cav/vectra A, c20xe, Alternator fittings)
