Does anyone have any spare bits and pieces lying around?
I need a pair of smallish speakers, a pair of tweaters a sub and a CD player for my TVR......If I can avoid spending a small fortune then thats
excelent!
Failing that, where online sells decent stuff a t a good price?

What is your price range? When you mean a pair of speakers and tweeters do you mean components comprised of mid-range speaker and tweeter or a pair of coaxial speakers and a pair of components? If you want a sub you're going to need an amplifier unless you buy an active subwoofer.
Havent got the speakers but have got a Kenwood kdc-5024 in pretty much mint condition you can have for a reasonable amount of beer tokens plus
postage... was about to fleabay it anyway. Facia looks like this: Always sounded great in my Cooper S...

i've got a sony cd/radio you can have for £20 + post
can get a pic if your interested

Hobzy, I may well u2u you later....
If im honest im not 100% sure what I need...
Basically, I have 2 bog standard 6x9s right at the back of the car, and thats it....
What I want to do is keep the 6x9s at the back, fit some very small tweeters in to the dash, and fit some small 6" speakers under the dash if I
can find space, and then fit a removable subwoofer box in the rear parcel shelf area of the car...
Im happy to make my own sub-box etc with an amp...
But, can I just get a pair of 6" speakers and a pair of tweeters and connect those up to a standard head unit?...
What speakers/sub/amp combination should I get?
Yes you can hook your back coaxials speakers to the head unit and buy a pair of components comprised of 6" mid range and seperate tweeters and connect them too to the head unit. What is your budget and I will find you some decent speakers and amp/sub combo?
Ah, for that I am no expert, my cousin is a fitter so he did it all. The only reason I have the HU is I bought the next one up to mate it to a Music
keg. Had it sat around for ages and noticed it the other day...
I forewent the sub in the MINI as the Alpine 6x9s were more than adequate, and I couldn't afford to lose anymore boot space.
Well as I dont have a boot, or opening rear hatch, im not too worried...although I am going to make the sub box removable just incase I want to put a
suitcase on the back shelf...
Daimo, how do you think it would sound with the old co-ax speakers, 6" mids and tweeters?..
Basically, I want to spend as little as possible but want decent sound.....im not a chav, so really heavy bass is not required, just want it to sound
"right".... What would you suggest I look at?
Dont supose anyone knows roughly what sort of power a head unit connected to 6 speakers would draw?...and likewise what sort of power an amp/sub would
draw?.....
Im laying in cables at the moment and want to get ones that are big enough!
Most head units will drive 4 speakers between 40 - 60 Watts and this should be adequate, you will not be able to run a sub off the head unit. Your
best bet for space saving would be a Vibe active sub as the enclosure is pretty slimline and the amp in in-built. As for wiring you will get away
with some 8 gauge power cable from the battery to the amp, earth cable from the amp to chassis and remote wire from amp to head unit. You will also
need to check of the head unit has any phono RCA output so you can send the audio to the amp.
