My old lathe (60 year old myford) is getting well past it now, and I need to start doing some more accurate machining.
Looking for a decent quality secondhand lathe. Minimum of 100mm centre height and 300mm between centres as this would replace my existing one
(anything much bigger I can do at work).
Anyone know of something thats available and not too far away from me?
Cheers,
David
Cant help you, but if you need to get rid of your myford, I might be interested :p
Tried the bay David? Tons of them on there
This any good for ya?

Can you not get the bearings replaced and the slides refaced/ground?...Having said that...a newer one might be cheaper

You can still get myford to refurbish your lathe.
I'm assuming tis a ML7 or similar.
Their website is fairly helpful.
IMHO its amazng they still refurb stuff that that old!.
they even have open days
Just missed on last week

I have got three harrisons in the workshop. might be willing to let one go :-S
they are all three phase though
I've got a Boxford (or is it Denford? - now scratching memory cells) that I am considering letting go. Its got 3 and 4 jaw chucks, face plate,
jacobs chuck for tailstock etc and has screw cutting capability. I have quite a few bits and bobs for it as well.
It also runs off single phase and has a locker underneath. Its not quite full sized but is larger than a Myford. I've had a BDA flywheel on
it.
U2U me with an email address if you want some pictures etc.
