nice job mate, this seems a popular colour at the moment.
at least i might be the only mnr in scotland in orange

bassett - 1/6/08 at 08:15 PM

Hi stuart, that looks great the colours really work and amazing how you've kept it so clean under the bonnet. Unusually low roll bar for an MNR glad i chopped mine now

Very smart,I do like the tunnel cover on the MNR's very neat

worX - 1/6/08 at 10:34 PM

I don't mean to enter into a petty argument here, but none of these cars build themselves and although Marc and Chris can be proud of their well finished cars on the road, I think the credit should rest completely with the builder!
You've built a good looking car there Stuart.

totally agree,
airfix can tun out a good kit, but
they don't all look as good as each
other when built!!

MNR's kit is a good starting point
though

Nice work Stuart.

I think I may have to take my upper steering column out again so I can trim the hole in the bulkhead as you have. Bugger.

Is that the standard ali finish on the top of the footwells? Looks almost brushed and hence easier to keep tidy?

Where on earth are your hoses going to the rad? It's like playing Where's Wally - very neat!

Sorry I have just re red that didn't assume it could be taken the other way.

I meant it to mean that you have show that MNR produce an excelent kit but that their are home builders out there that can build the car to the standard that MNR would be proud to have on there show stands.

Thats what you get when posting under the influence of beer.

Agriv8

Tim, The finish on the ali bulkhead panel is as it comes, I haven't done anything to it after taking the protective film off.

The cooling hoses are all black and where possible fixed to the underside of any chassis tube to hide it as much as possible. Any metal pipes are sprayed black so they blend in, this was the reason for me not using bright coloured hoses.

Cheers
Stu.

Wow! Brilliant! Congratulations! Nice car!
We are picking up ours next Monday, so I can hardly concentrate on anything else, I am so excited!!!
How long did it take you to get to this point in your build, may I ask?
I am switching jobs, so will have 2 weeks off right after we get our kit home...

I picked the kit up October last year. I have worked on it evenings and weekends but not all the time. I have had several breaks from it, especially over winter.

Good luck with your build.
