Need some help!
My fuel pump gives interference on the Autocom intercom.
the pump in question is an Bosch type mounted seperately from the tank in the engine compartement.
This was not an issue while on carbs
and the only electric changes are: HP fuel pump, injectors and the Megasquirt computer.
any suggestions on how to suppress the noise? it's not very load but is extremely irritating!
If you've got any screened cables (e.g. on the Autocom, or to sensors) make sure that the screening is connected to chassis at one end only -
preferably all screens to the same earth.
If you earth both ends then it can pick up interference, which it transmits to the cables inside.
If it's not that, maybe you can put a suppressor on the pump itself...

No, nothing screened on the Autocom, nor on any sensors, only on the VR sensor, BUT there is interference even when the engine is not running, e.g.
when the pump is priming when you first turn the Ignition key.
So I gues I would need to put some sort of suppression on the pump, but how and what? I have no clue. Any electronical guru's out there?
What have you got plugged into the autocom.
Is the autocom powered from the car battery.
I had to get a special lead to plug my mp3 and sat nav into my autocom because they all shared the cars power supply.
without this lead I had a buzzing noise.

At the moment there is nothing plugged into the Autocom, just the headsets :-)
I could try to connect the Autocom directly to the battery to see if that makes a difference.
BTW What kind of cable did you need to connect the SatNav? That will be my next step. I did not have one (connected) before.
But first I need to to communicate with the passenger, without a whine!
I used one of their Isolation adaptors for devices powered by the same battery as the autocom.
