1st August 1993 and 31st July 1994 for an L-reg. I thought Ford had replaced the Sierra with the Mondeo by the time the L-reg plates came out!!!
So why an L-reg specifically then?

Yes, ford had stopped making them, but its the dealers that register them, meaning some made it to L regs.
I want it so that the Kit will become a L reg and allow me to fit an L based personal plate

The latest Sierra I've ever seen is a 'K' plate AFAIk.
Don't forget the Granada or Scorpio. You'd get one of them in an L plate and they're basically the same as the Sierra.

You would just need the V5 really to get your age related plate.

I wouldnt want to build it all and have them tell me the donor parts proof of age is suspect and end up on an Q reg.
I may look at the v5 only route if i struggle to find a suitable donor

People are struggling to find Sierra's these days - so guess you could be in for a long search

yes, that's what I was using, they have rather huge front calipers and disks and 5-studs but otherwise just the same as using a sierra as the
donor

So when *we* cant tell the difference between parts from the 2, you thing the DVLA inspector will be more successful?
You have more faith in them than I do!

I agree with the late reg idea but I have never seen one.
Its going to be a very rare car.

I don`t think you will find a `L` reg Sierra either. I`ve only ever seen `K` plates as new as they went. After all, early mondeos started on `K`
plates. I know someone that built a Tiger using a `L` reg mondeo as the donor car and successfully registered it as an age related `L` plate.

No L plate Sierras
The last Sierras were K reg and Ford exported all the "Leftovers" to Ireland to prevent a repeat of the Capri fiasco, when registrations
dragged on for four years from dealer stock.
The head honcos wanted a clean break for the Mondeo.
Plenty of Granadas/Scorpios though and the average DVLA man isn't going to know the difference
Cheers
Chris
Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!
