So many questions to ask here before an answer can be given.
Do another search but add in the word 'legality' this time.
It's a minefield would be smething of an understatement.
The safest method is a braked trailer towed by a car which can legally tow the all up weight which the whole plot will weigh ready for the road.

It's not a minefield really - neither is legal for transport, only "recovery of a broken down vehicle".

Oh, I know that.
But the big discussion usually follows about what is a trailer and what isn't a trailer and then auto reverse brakes is usually next.
I suggested reading more so the original poster comes out of this with a greater understanding of why it's not a great idea.

Sorry, yes you are absolutely right, it does get turned into a minefield. What I was getting at is that all of that discussion is irrelevent unless
the GVW of the car you are towing is under 750kg. Otherwise it needs brakes, and inertia-overrun brakes are only permitted on centre-axle trailers,
which a car is not.

I've got an A-frame surplus to requirements which I used for towing my Luego Velocity to track days but the others are right, it's not
legal to do that. But let me know if you're interested although Manchester's a long way from Verwood in Dorset.
