WTD: materials for inlet manifold

Hi all,

I am going to make up a manifold to mount a sausage filter to as I am not happy with the current filter.

Anyone know where I can source some 4mm (ish) thick ali plate. approx 500mm by 100mm and some ali tube approx wall thickness 3mm ID 45mm (ish) about 800mm long.

Needs to be flat and in good condition.

Some cheap trumpets 150mm long would replace the tube if anyone knows a cheap sullier (has any laying around)

Thanks

Biz

I'd up the spec of the flange plate to something like 6 or 8mm if it was me, FastDan makes kits that you can weld up yourself, worth a u2u?

Cheers

Rich

I used some 50mm alloy scaffold tube it has a wall thickness of about 5mm.I also would up the plate to at least 6 or 8mm as it does distort quite a bit when welded.

My stock tube is 44.5mm or 50.8mm OD, 3mm wall, which I can do you a small quantity of for a reasonable price.

As said scaffold comes in at funny inbetween size. infact there's alsorts of wall thicknesses available but you end up having to buy 2.5m minimum from the stockholders.

If you want to use scaff tube, find a local scaff firm and ask for a short length. I got 3' for the cost of a pint.
