Hi im after 1300 pinto and gearbox to suit need to put in my locost race chassis.

Rare beasty, the 1300 Pinto. All weight and no go, good enough for the Germans though.

Someone wanting a 1300 Pinto... Ha ha ha.........
I guess your race class is upto 1400cc or something...
But the 1300 Pinto is as heavy as the 2000 give or take a couple of KG's..
A Kent Crossflow would be a much better proposition..

I bet i know why he wants a 1300 pinto, the heads are the best for tuning, but i can tell you it ain't likely you will find one.

I have a sorted Arrows 1300 x-flow, if that's any help!
Stage 2 spec: -
Max o-size,
Big valve flowed head,
Piper 285 cam,
Duplex timing chain,
Lightened, balanced and tuftrided crank,
Lightened flywheel,
Piper Magnum distributor (fixed advance) with a Lumenition Magentronic pickup,
Piper high flow oil pump,
Burtons crankcase breather,
Oil cooler flange,
Weber 32DMF carb (bigger than a DGAV),
Mild steel manifold (needs painting),
T3 gearbox (jangly baulk rings),
Clutch of unknown origin,
Various other bits to make it run.
Make me an offer if you're interested!!!

1300 Pinto.
Ford made 76 between 13th May 1982 and the 22 June 1982
They were able to sell all of these before 12th December 1990, despite the large demand, Ford executives cancelled a rerun in production due to the
advent of its natural supercessor, the 1800CVH

Exactley, reason being is the combustion chamber is much smaller as are the ports, allowing for serious fettling without adding any material, so
getting exactley the desired shape.....

closely followed by the 1600 emax heads from sierras only downside is the fact the 1300 and 1600 valves are not as long as the 'big'
valves available but can be overcome by using lash caps to correct the valve train geometry.
