WANTED: Saab coil pack cassette (older red type)
Does anyone have a spare ignition cassette from older Saab turbos (9000, mk1 9-3, etc)? Must be red type as fitted to B204, not newer black type. I am
only interested in an original part, not a cheaper aftermarket part.
Thanks,
Ben

Thanks. The black cassette will fit and does work, but you loose the ability to properly detect knock. I am keeping the black cassette as a last
resort.

That was my understanding. They use the plugs as knock sensors?
I have two working black ones, if you need one.

From what I have read on Saab forums, although the black cassette does work on T5, and does detect knock, the knock sensitivity is much lower on the
black module. That's why I would prefer to get a red one if possible. Thanks for the offer though. If I can't get a red one I will be in
touch.
