Buy a 6mm bore/thread rose joint, and an M5 helicoil to reduce the thread?

Although I'm not sure whether the helicoil size is the 'before' or 'after', so you might need the M5 version.

The OD of a helicoil is a special size, not simply the next size up metric thread.

Gear change cable is a 5mm thread and gear-lever has a welded on 6mm mount
Interested in your shock mounts possibly
