Sierra 1600 Rear Drum Brakes

As title really.
Having stripped, cleaned, painted etc etc etc the rear brakes from a 1.6 Sierra I now find that good old Ford, in their infinite wisdom, fitted brakes from a 1.8 for some reason (quite common procedure I'm now told...).

SO...... anyone have some 1600 assemblies at the back of the shed????

Silly question but will 1800 rear brakes not work?

Isn't the only difference the 1" diameter between the two, 8" or 9".

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

The difference is about 2kg less unsprung weight per side

Thanks for your interest, but actually the Velocity upright is designed specifically for the 1600 brakes and the 1800 ones are an arse to fit....

Come to think of it...anyone want to swop some 1800 brakes for 1600????
