Sierra fornt calipers
Despite fitting new seals to my Sierra front calipers I'm still having trouble bleeding the buggers.
Where is the cheepest place to get new/recon. I'll ring my local motor factors in the morning but just wondered if anyone knew of any cheap
suppliers.

This may sound a bit stupid but have you got them mounted on the correct sides so that the bleed nipples are at the top?

Fronts - I got mine for £28 each exchange from local motor factors (Coulthards, Bishop Auckland). AMK???? or something like that. i bet loads of
places local will do them if you shop around.

Or, in my case, when I bought recon calipers I was given 2 right-hand ones (or was it 2 left-hand - anyway, you get the idea!

Thanks for the idea David but yes they are on the right sides.
With regard to "how am I bleeding them"
I have tried loads of ways!
started with the shortest run first working towards the longest then longest to shortest (no different) I'm using a one man non return valve
bleed tank and pumping the pedal with the bleed screws open approx 1/2 turn.
The system seems to bleed OK. no bubbles in the clear plastic bleed pipe. the pedal semms firm the first time you press it after bleeding the complete
system but then goes "spongey" and needs 2 or 3 sharp pumps to get it solid again so it's definately air.
My guess is its the front calipers as the rear cylinders are new.

Before shelling out on a pair of new calipers, get yourself a Gunson Eezi Bleed or borrow one, loads of people have them. They are much better than
those one way valve things, and will clear the stubbornest air out of the system.
If that doesnt fix it, get some new calipers, and then you still have the best tool for bleeding them in your inventory
