Tool cabinet and top chest
Does anyone know where there are any good deals on tool cabinets and top chests?
I dont need a top quality roller bearing one but do fancy something of a decent size. The clarke sets look good but i cant justify 6 / 700 quid! I
could be interested in a 2nd hand one.

I bought the Clark HD 7-drawer roller cabinet from machine mart a few weeks ago. 235 quid IIRC.
Was originally going to get he friction slide one but when i pressed down on an open drawer to simulate weight and close the drawer, it had to be the
roller bearing one
Didn't notice how much the equivelent top chests were but I'd doubt they'd addup to 700 quid?

We have a Halfrauds one and a Clarke HD one. The Clarke is light years ahead and although expensive is well worth the money. If poss try to collect
yourself as we had at least one damaged in transit that had to go back.

I've got a Sealey Superline Pro Rollcab and top chest with roller bearing drawers etc... It's great quality and manufactured from a thick
gauge of steel. I had a look at some of the Halfrauds ones and they're pretty thin steel at an equivalent price point.
The drawers were unlined but I've use IKEA draw lining from the kitchen section. Works surprisingly well and much cheaper than the designated
stuff.

We have some of the Clarke ball bearing ones and are happy, Halfrauds do a new pro range with decent sized drawers etc but I'm told they give a
huge trade discount if you know anyone who qualifies......................

might be worth phoning around your local snap-on or mac rep to see if they have repo,d any cabs from young lads who cant pay for them anymore. i
picked up a 3 drawer bottom cab for a 1/3 of its list price and it was just a few months old

Sealey often do good deals on cab & tools sold as a package. Always thought it would be a good idea to buy a set & then flog off the items I
didn't need to recoup some of the cost. Bought the Halfords pro ones myself, got a good deal & they have stood up pretty well.

I have a Hakf - Fords one.
The deawers are not deep enough for ring spanners, and large handled screwdrivers.
The drawers bend under the weight when you cram them full of old whitworth spanners
Save up and get a clarke or Teng cabinet. I speak with hind sight
Having said that, the Half-Fords one has had a battering, but its not really up to the job.
Sorry.. its my 2 d worth.
I should have saved up for something better.

Thanks for that. Confirmed some of my suspicions. Ive just found out from a lad down the road that his father got his Snap on cabinet and top box from
work when he retired and doesnt need it anymore. I know some of the tools have been sold off dirt cheap. Fingers crossed - will find out about it on
Sunday.
