Mild steel off cuts
Evening gents
Do we have any engineers on here that may be able to get hold of a couple of bits of scrap steel for a few beer tokens!
I’m in need of two 155mm lengths of bright mild steel, either 20x20 or 20x25 section!
I have trawled all my usual stocks to no avail and I am trying to avoid buying a massive length which I will never use!
I’m near Huntingdon Cambs but am happy to pay postage and sensible money!
Regards
Thom

20x25 solid bar? There's a place near here which will cut lengths for you but they charge a premium for it, although they are cheaper than a
full length.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Try Mackays in Cambridge. They cut and sell shorter lengths in lots of outlines.
Bought 2x2m lengths of 1" RHS 1.6mm for £10 - not cheap, but conventient if you don't want lots.
The website details what they can supply, but call first to make sure they will have it in the shop if it's not a common section. They also
deliver up to 25 miles IIRC.

p.s. Don't go in the tool shop with a credit card and time to browse Steel shop is out back next to the car park.
