Sorry to hijack, but I have been wondering for a while which are the best close ratio type 9's to go for,and who supplies them now.
My Toyota box is very quiet and has good ratios but goes solid when going down to second so obviously my synchro needs attention, but bits are scarce, the type 9 close ratio might be an alternative.

That has a very long first gear. Great for track use, but a pain in the bum if you're stuck in traffic. If you use the car on the road you might want something a little shorter.

The long 1st gear is Ok as we use it mainly on track, but the high 5th is a bit of a pain as it currently does around 125mph in 4th & the 5th would probably too high for track use. The diesel box is of no use for our purposes, thanks anyway.
cheers

BGH Geartech do a close ratio recon box, but big bucks. If memory serves £750 & £950. They have a web site.
