Tuned Pinto
Following my post in engines section im considering getting my Pinto bottom end rebuilt. However before doing this, and knowing Pintos were getting
tuned when Adam was a lad im sure someone will have just what im looking for lying around and is now wondering about how they can generate some cash
for xmas.
So, come on and have a good look around and give me specs and prices by U2U or email.
Ive got a half decent head so will consider bottom end only. Must be 205 block, very good condition and lightened / balanced etc. Proven performance
preferred. (and i guess i should say i dont have megabucks available for a holbay or Millington type engine!)
Cheers,
Darren.

Go and see the Mk2 escort man at Bowburn-he had about 5 in his garage and is building an immaculate mk 2 escort in sky blue. We bought a complete
engine with 'alleged light' head work for £50 which can't be bad, get back if you don't know who I mean and I'lldig out
his contact details tonight

Ive just done a deal on a very low mileage std Pinto so will fit that for now and rebuild the other bottom end at my leisure. I also got a new Gates
timing belt and steel vernier cam wheel of him.
So for now im sorted but if you hear of any bits that are required when tuning Pinto bottom ends let me know.
If anyone has a BV head doing nowt and would like it putting to good use then let me know - U2U please so i dont get sniped again.
I may have a used electronic ignition system (inductive - ie the one you want instead of the hall effect) for sale soon, complete with coil and
amplifier i fanyone interested. Later i will have another set (currently in use) based on brand new dizzy that will be a touch more.

It's a bit of work and you will get to know the machine shop quite well but a standard crank double dowled to a light flywheel ground to take
1600 Fiesta diesel conrods (50 quid) which have been machined to fit and you have a bottom end thats bullet proof to 8000. If you use the Ford V6
pistons your limit will be 7200 to 7500. I have all the bits for my conversion, it's just a matter of time.

Thanks jim, that will be a good contact for me. For now im going to fit a 40K miler engine that ive just got along with bike carbs, vernier pulley
etc. Then the 'old' 205 block can be re-built at my leisure at a later date. I will therefore be on the lookout for gasket setc, bolts, V6
pistons, possibly diesel rods etc bargains.
